Our Story

Every great passion has a quiet beginning. For us, it started right here on our one-acre homestead in rural Louisiana. What began as a simple admiration for rabbits quickly transformed our property into what is now Jolis Lapins Rabbitry.

When we introduced our first rabbits, we were captivated by their quiet grace and calm presence. However, we quickly realized that finding beautifully structured, well-socialized, and truly healthy pedigreed lines required a level of care and transparency that was hard to find. We saw an opportunity to build something special: a premium, small-scale rabbitry founded on uncompromising standards of animal stewardship and honest, open relationships with our buyers.

Raised with Care, Shaped by Family

Jolis Lapins is a true family passion project. Every member of our household plays a role in ensuring our herd lives a peaceful, structured life—from monitoring nest boxes in the morning to tracking the lineage of our juniors.

Because we operate on a personal scale, our rabbits receive individual attention every single day. Our juniors are handled from their very first days, growing up surrounded by daily family life, the gentle presence of our family dog, Bruneaux, and constant human interaction. This intensive, early socialization is exactly what gives our lines their signature calm, steady temperaments.

Preserving Quality Over Quantity

Our philosophy is simple: we focus on doing a few things flawlessly. We deliberately keep our herd small so that we never have to compromise on individual attention. By focusing heavily on genetic health, excellent physical structure, and predictable, gentle dispositions, we ensure that every rabbit leaving our homestead is perfectly prepared to bring companionship, pride, and joy to its future home.
